The World Cup is approaching and so the whole world will go football crazy for a month. No doubt loads of Americans will get involved in the games for the month of July and Major League Soccer will say that this is the start of something great......again! (It happens every four years here)
Well, being English, football is ingrained into our culture and we literally live and breathe the sport.....one of the things that Sarah and I miss the most about not living in Blighty is not traveling around England watching our beloved West Ham United. Granted West Ham aren't one of the best current teams in the Premiership, but we live through the struggles and glory on a yearly basis, mainly just trying to remain in the top tier of English football.
This past weekend, we all but secured our survival in the Premiership for next season. There are only two games to go and so it took 36 games to eek out our place for the 2010-2011 season. We played badly this season but fortunately there were three teams who were worse than us.....report card for the season reads most do better next year!
Anyway, the clip below shows the goal that secured our survival and it came from the one player that showed hardwork and huge amounts of passion through the whole season......passion is what it is all about whatever you do in life......
West Ham United 3-2 Wigan Athletic

- Got to ride the trails at Marine Corp Base Quantico yesterday at the Quantico Epic....50 miles of awesomeness despite the muddy trails. - Kind of a rough day at 6hrs at Woodstock. First 3.5 hrs were fine (even with a 10min stop for horses on the trail) and then stomach shut down. Probably related to stomach bug earlier in the week. Decided not to head out for another lap. Great trails though and a good race from Joe's Bike Shop as always. 📸: @dchammerette . . . . #6HAW #parvillacycles #mtbracing #mtbmarathon #IFB #patapsco #mtb
