Xterra Maui 2017.....Day 1

After a day of travel on Wednesday, Thursday was our first full day and with the bike trails still being closed for much of the day from heavy rain earlier in the week it meant a short and slippery run on the run course and then a ride on the road in the afternoon.  Good news is that the forecast doesn't call for more rain before race day so the course should be in great condition by then.

We also did the usual registration stuff, got a little technical fix of the bike from the guys at Krank Cycles and then headed off along the West Maui road to take in the sights and the Nakalele Blowhole. We hadn't ventured north of Kapalua when we were last here in 2015 so it was all new!

We ended the day with dinner at Maui Brewing Company and before long fell asleep as we recovered from the travel......good news was that the legs felt good on the bike.....almost time to let it rip!
