Having just got a Powertap back in September, I have only just really begun to start training with power and learning first hand how good it can be. As most members of the powerazzi, I got myself a copy of the book "Training and Racing with a Power Meter" by Hunter Allen and Andrew Coggan and keep on going back to it continually learning more and more.
So who better to lead a Training and Racing with Power Workshop, than Hunter Allen himself and the location only a couple of hours down the road in Richmond, VA. This weekend I'll be there with fellow John Howard Performance Sports Mid-Atlantic coach, Stu Waring to glean as much information as we can. The registered group is pretty small and so it will be an excellent opportunity to get into the nitty gritty of power based training and racing for both cyclists as well as multisport athletes.
On a selfish note it will be good to put the gained knowledge to the test for my own personal training and racing. It will also further enhance the knowledge that I can pass along to the athletes that we coach.
I'll report back after the weekend as Hunter Allen also has a couple more workshops later in April in Bedford, VA.
