....got the skimpy speedos back on and hit the pool! Fortunately the trunks still fitted after the Holiday period and I didn't embarrass myself :-)
For the first few laps it felt good to be back in the water after a month off and then the shoulders begun to ache and feel real heavy. Eventually the shoulders eased into it and I put in a solid 35mins. As I suspected I found that my regular pace hadn't really dropped, it was just the endurance that was lacking, which will come back in time.
After the swim I quickly changed and hopped on the treadmill for a speed interval workout and jeez the arms felt heavy, more so than after doing a weights session. I have two weeks of swimming before another enforced layoff of about 10 days and then it will be serious swim time and getting back the base. Once the base comes then we can concentrate on specific workouts.
It was good to be back in the water but it did remind me that I had been getting used to sleeping past 6:00AM :-)
The training ramblings of an Endurance Junkie....tend to ride my bike with the occasional swim and run.

- Still reflecting on @gravel_worlds from this past weekend. 150miles of primo gravel in Lincoln NE with 10,000ft of climbing. It was hard but I went for it and utimately paid the price in the last hour when I cracked, really cracked. Crawled to the finish just over 9hrs after starting.....but yes it was fun! . . . . . #gravelworlds #gravelride #IFB #parvillacycles #cycling #vandessel #lincoln
