Wow....last post was over a month ago! Jeez, so much has happened, some good some not so good.
On the personal/business front Parvilla Cycle and Multisport opened on May 28th and so far business has been good. Check out www.parvillacycles.com for more details or better yet swing by the store to take a look.
On the racing side I finally got into triathlon for the season after a few duathlon races. The first race was a local sprint race down at General Smallwood Park.....I took the win overall which was nice! The following week was Eagleman 70.3m! I was found out at this race and the lack of serious long distance training was evident. Nothing outstanding at the race just a solid finish and a lot of sunburn :-(
I'll try and get some photos of the races and the store up in the next few days.....got a Time Trial to organize first :-)

Race Schedule 2009....Coming!
This week I have been looking at the race schedule for 2009. Most of it is already locked into place as the big triathlons sell-out way in advance and so they were bagged last year!
I have therefore been looking at the early season triathlons and road races on the MABRA schedule to make sure that I am suitably prepped when the big triathlons, the "A" races come around. So far it is looking like the early months will be a busy time before settling down for the summer months of Ironman training. Could really do with some nice sunny, hot weather for training atm....once again it's onto the treadmill tonight. Next week I will post a 2008 season review and the tentative race schedule for 2009.
The road conditions look ok for the weekend rides so the Davidsonville ride can kick my ass again!

Big Season for Washington D.C........
This season is looking to be bit of a doozy for the Washington D.C. area. Not only do we have the staple diet of major triathlons (Columbia triathlon and Eagleman 70.3) but this year the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championship Series is also making a stop in the nation's capital.
Over the weekend of June 20-21, the series will be here in D.C. and hopefully the City and the local triathlon community will get the word out. It would be great to have a good crowd to support triathlon in the area. No details about the course have been released yet but I imagine that they will try and use the National Memorials to get an inspiring backdrop....no word yet on whether they will try and get an Obama vs Fenty race (For those that don't know D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty is an avid triathlete competing in the major races in the area all the way to half-ironman distance....he isn't too shabby either!).
In addition to the ITU series race the area will also see the annual CSC Invitational Criterium in Arlington and the Capital Criterium, which proved to be a massive hit in downtown D.C. with perhaps one of the best finishing sprints ever (along Pennsylvania Avenue with the Capitol Building in the background).
Of course we shouldn't exclude the Tour of Walkersville and the Spring and Fall Church Creek Time Trials which are hosted by none other than ABRT and Team Latitude. These races have become fixtures on the Mid-Atlantic racing calender and for Team Latitude in particular, Walkersville is the place to lay it down and show who is top-dog!
